Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Hardware Lead Engineer to join their R&D center in Shenzhen. The ideal candidate will lead key hardware initiatives from concept and prototyping through testing certification and mass production. This role requires strong technical expertise hands-on problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in design software and manufacturing to deliver high-quality consumer electronics products.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of electronic schematics and PCB layouts using CAD tools (e.g. Altium Designer).
Debug analyze and optimize hardware performance including power efficiency and durability.
Prepare maintain and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) with a focus on cost efficiency and component availability.
Research select and validate electronic components leveraging knowledge of the Chinese supply chain.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation packages for manufacturing assembly and testing.
Establish and refine hardware development workflows ensuring systematic documentation standards.
Support debugging validation and prototype testing ensuring compliance with international certifications.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to resolve technical issues and align on specifications.
Ensure design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles are incorporated into all hardware designs.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics or a related field.
7 years of experience in consumer electronics hardware development.
Proven expertise with Altium Designer or equivalent EDA tools.
Strong knowledge of BOM management and component lifecycle.
Familiarity with modern electronic components and sourcing in the Chinese market.
Hands-on experience preparing hardware documentation for manufacturing.
Practical understanding of hardware debugging and testing practices.
Ability to structure processes and maintain systematic documentation.
Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).
Chinese language skills are a strong plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in gaming hardware toys or interactive devices.
Knowledge of wireless modules (e.g. Bluetooth) power management or sensor integration.
Skills in Rust C or Assembly for hardware-related software debugging.
Direct experience working with Chinese factories (OEM/ODM).
