Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client we are seeking an Applications Engineer/Estimator located in Edmonton or Calgary that will play a key role in supporting business development and project execution by preparing accurate and timely proposals cost estimates and technical documentation. This role requires strong collaboration across sales engineering and production teams to ensure client expectations are met while driving continuous improvement in processes and outcomes.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales and Regional Account Managers to review client requirements and RFPs.
- Work with Mechanical Electrical & Instrumentation and Process Engineering teams to develop proposal designs.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and formal quotations for product lines.
- Source and evaluate quotations from sub-suppliers reviewing for both technical and commercial accuracy.
- Provide technical support to project management drafting and production teams during project execution.
- Initiate and prepare P&IDs preliminary general arrangements and other technical documentation.
- Manage the handoff process of awarded proposals ensuring all requirements are communicated across departments.
- Review project specifications ensuring proposals are complete accurate and delivered on time.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency accuracy and value for stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement by providing feedback based on international proposal execution.

Qualifications
- Strong background in proposal preparation cost estimating or related engineering support.
- Experience with technical documentation P&IDs and general arrangement drawings.
- Proven ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities: The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following: Attend site meetings Serve as main point of contact for the builder for any project-related questions/requests Understand project specifications and objectives Proactively identify potential issues Report on milestone dates and deliverables Respond to field issues and questions with engineering and other resources as required Investigate claims promptly and resolve them fairly Proactive approach to change orders Support and engage in a collaborative work environment Liaise with Architect, Client, Contractor, Owner, Specialty Consultants, Project Manager, Job Captain and Project Engineer Complete time critical reports including Request for Information, Contemplated Revisions, Change Orders, Field Review, Pricing Review, Progress Claim Review Issue and sign off on Site Deficiency Reports, verify and accept As Built Drawings and Operational and Maintenance Manuals and ensure all require
