Your opportunity

The Tech Lead Release & Platform Environments is a senior technical role responsible for leading the design implementation and operational management of software release processes and SDLC environments. This role ensures reliable secure and scalable environments across development testing staging and production while enabling efficient software delivery through automation tooling and collaboration with engineering and QA teams.

Release Management

  • Own and manage end-to-end release processes across multiple environments

  • Coordinate release schedules cutovers and deployment windows with engineering and QA teams

  • Implement release automation and rollback strategies for safe deployments

  • Maintain release documentation runbooks and change logs

SDLC Environment Management

  • Design provision and maintain environments for development testing staging and production

  • Ensure environment consistency configuration management and version alignment

  • Troubleshoot environment-related issues and coordinate resolution across teams

  • Implement environment monitoring and health checks

Automation & Tooling

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for environment provisioning and release workflows

  • Integrate release and environment processes into CI/CD pipelines

  • Work with tools like Azure DevOps GitHub Actions Jenkins and Octopus Deploy

  • Maintain infrastructure-as-code templates for environment setup (Terraform Bicep)

Security & Access Control

  • Implement RBAC and access policies across environments

  • Ensure secure handling of secrets credentials and environment variables

  • Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance and audit readiness

Monitoring & Support

  • Set up monitoring and alerting for environment stability and release health

  • Lead incident response during release failures or environment outages

  • Continuously improve release and environment reliability through root cause analysis

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead a small team of environment and release engineers

  • Collaborate with developers QA SREs and platform teams to align delivery goals

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices and standards

Must have skills

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science Engineering or related field

  • 7 years of experience in release engineering environment management or DevOps

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps GitHub CI/CD and scripting (PowerShell Bash Python)

  • Deep understanding of SDLC environment lifecycle and deployment strategies

  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform Bicep) and release automation frameworks

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) RBAC & secure delivery practices

Nice to have skills

  • Experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes Docker)

  • Exposure to service virtualization and test data management

  • Knowledge of ITIL or change management processes

  • Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills
