What we need:
The Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor provides leadership and direction for the E&I team ensuring safety reliability and efficient operation of mill electrical instrumentation and control systems. This role oversees daily maintenance and troubleshooting activities manages planned outages supports capital and reliability initiatives and partners with plant leadership to align departmental performance with mill and company objectives.
What you will do:
- Champion safety across the E&I department and enforce compliance with company policies NEC NFPA OSHA and other applicable codes and regulations.
- Supervise daily activities of the E&I crew including planning scheduling and prioritizing work assignments.
- Lead maintenance troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems instrumentation and control equipment.
- Manage parts inventory including specification addition of critical spares and removal of obsolete items.
- Plan schedule and manage electrical and instrumentation activities for Paper Machine and Secondary Fiber outages.
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) processes to improve mill reliability and reduce downtime.
- Contribute to the development and achievement of mill and departmental goals in alignment with the company roadmap.
- Provide leadership coaching and development opportunities to crew members ensuring training compliance and closing identified skill gaps.
- Ensure adherence to the Bargaining Agreement and Seniority Work Rules when coordinating personnel.
- Manage E&I-related costs track expenses and document change orders to control project scope.
- Collaborate with operations engineering construction managers and other disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Direct and oversee subcontractor activities for large or complex projects.
- Resolve technical scheduling and field issues promptly to maintain project momentum.
- Support effective use of computerized maintenance management systems (e.g. Maximo) for work tracking reporting and continuous improvement.
- Member of the mill management call team.
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises non-exempt support staff. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical components; strong mechanical aptitude mathematical proficiency and troubleshooting ability.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced production setting.
- Self-motivated with a proactive take-charge approach and strong understanding of personnel management practices.
- Knowledgeable in the capabilities of internal craftsmen in-house shops and external contractors.
- Proficient in the use of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for reporting performance tracking and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of computerized maintenance management systems (preferably Maximo).
- Two or more years of formal electrical training or 10 years of field experience required.
- Previous supervisory experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Paper mills experience preferred.

Work Environment:
- The noise level within the office is usually quiet and the temperature is regulated to be comfortable.
- Occasionally the employee is exposed to the Mill work environment which can be hot and the noise level is loud.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (80dB).
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
- Occasionally exposed to loud moving equipment
Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment PPE such as hard hat steel-toed boots gloves safety glasses and hearing protection
