Job Description

Are you ready to bring your Welder /Fabricator skills to a team that values precision and innovation At Martin Sprocket & Gear were dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components material handling systems and custom forgings with excellence and were looking for skilled Welder / Fabricatorslike you!

What Youll Do:

  • Machine operation: Operate metalworking machines such as shears presses and grinders to shape metal parts as required.
  • Fabrication of metal parts: Cut shape and assemble metal components using various hand and power tools ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Blueprint interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints drawings and sketches to accurately fabricate metal parts according to the design.
  • Welding and assembly: Weld braze or solder metal parts together using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Inspection and quality control: Inspect finished products for defects ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintenance of tools and equipment: Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Work area organization: Keep work areas clean organized and safe to ensure a productive work environment.
  • Adherence to safety protocols: Follow all safety guidelines including wearing appropriate PPE and complying with safety procedures.
  • Cross-departmental support: Support additional areas or departments as assigned to enhance overall operations and contribute to team success.

What Youll Bring:

  • Mechanical aptitude and equipment experience: Previous experience operating hydraulic presses and working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Math and communication skills: Average math abilities with the ability to understand and follow instructions written in English and complete basic logs and reports.
  • Safety awareness: Familiarity with safety programs and training with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Physical capability: Able to handle heavy items through lifting pushing pulling and positioning and able to consistently stand for the entire shift.
  • Dependability and adherence to policies: Reliable attendance with a commitment to working scheduled hours and following the companys timekeeping policy and all other policies.
  • Adaptability to work environment: Willing to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
  • Organization and detail orientation: Organized detail-oriented and capable of performing basic clerical tasks accurately.
  • Teamwork: Works well with others and has a collaborative team-oriented approach.

Your Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift: Monday Thursday 2:30 PM 1:00 AM.
