Purpose of the Job:
Project Management:
Plan execute and oversee all phases of pier/dock construction including design budgeting scheduling and quality assurance.
Coordinate with stakeholders contractors and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth execution of the project.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and Analysis:
Review validate and approve structural and geotechnical designs ensuring they meet project specifications and safety standards.
Conduct load analysis material selection and risk assessments specific to pier/dock construction.
Site Supervision:
Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved plans timelines and safety protocols.
Resolve on-site technical issues and provide guidance to teams as needed.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Ensure all construction activities comply with local official regulations including environmental and marine guidelines.
Implement and maintain quality control standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Cost and Resource Management:
Prepare and manage budgets forecasts and resource allocation plans.
Identify and mitigate potential project risks to avoid delays or cost overruns.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with architects surveyors environmental specialists and other engineers to ensure project coherence.
Prepare technical reports progress updates and presentations for stakeholders and senior management.
Education Level:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Certifications in PMP or PRMG
Work Experience Required:
10-13 years of experience in civil engineering with a strong focus on marine infrastructure projects (e.g. piers jetties ports).
Proven record of accomplishment of successfully managing mega construction projects.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD Primavera etc.) and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles hydrodynamics and structural design.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and permits related to marine construction
Soft Skills
Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to project challenges.
