This position will be based out of our Barrie ON distribution center and reports into the Distribution Center Coordinator.

Job Summary

The Order Pickers responsibility is to accurately and quickly service our customers while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in the industry. The Order Picker reports into the distribution center Coordinator while focusing on operate forklift equipment picking orders in a warehouse utilizing RF scanning equipment and be prepared to meet any challenge.

Location: 500 Veterans Dr Barrie ON L4N 9J5 (view on google maps)

Hours of Work: 7:00am - 7:15pm; Continental schedule format (7 shifts bi-weekly)

Starting Salary: $26.12/hour

Responsibilities

  • Receiving of stock transfers purchase orders and return merchandise authorizations
  • Pick and prepare shipment for customer orders as required
  • Ensure customer orders are picked accurately and efficiently
  • Tape carton stretch wrap all orders for shipping
  • Load/unload trailers and containers as assigned
  • Receive and put away all incoming goods in the correct bin locations using RF technology
  • Assist with inventory preparation and perform regular cycle counts
  • Process courier orders using existing software
  • Transfer inventory for re-stocking bin location stock replenishment as needed
  • Re-package and label cartons with bar codes as required
  • Maintain a strict housekeeping standard in accordance with 5S protocols
  • Report unsafe work conditions/environment in a timely manner
  • Perform a variety of other tasks as assigned



Requirements
  • Completion of high school or college diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current and valid G2 class or higher drivers license in Ontario
  • The successful candidate will be required to successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Work experience in distribution and/or logistics environment is preferred
  • Possession of a valid counterbalance forklift certification is considered an asset
  • Previous experience operating various forklift equipment is an asset
  • Experience with RF technology is preferred
  • Comfortable with working at heights up to 30 feet
  • Ability to meet daily deadlines within a fast-paced environment where assignments and work priorities are reviewed several times a day
  • Must be self-motivated to work independently under minimal direction and have good written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions

Incumbent is subject to ongoing requirements of physical activities. the work involves both routine and non-routine tasks within well-defined standards. Warehouse associates need to be prepared and equipped to perform in varying work conditions. Lifting pulling pushing heavy objects (up to 50lbs) standing and walking cover the majority of the work. The incumbent must follow the rules in place as described in the Employee Handbook and understand respect and adhere to the workplace health and safety rules and regulations.
