Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:
Provides skilled compassionate care and coordinates patient care.

Conducts health assessments and formulates individualized care plans.
Delivers patient/family-centered care to address patient needs.
Advocates for patients rights and resolves issues to ensure quality outcomes.
Coordinates care across disciplines ensuring effective transitions.
Documents patient care activities and assists team members.
Evaluates care processes and adjusts plans based on patient progress.
Makes clinical decisions based on data experience and intuition.
Fosters cooperation and respect among clinical disciplines.
Guides staff in assessing patient learning needs and outcomes.
Serves as a clinical resource preceptor and mentor and supervises patient care activities.
Utilizes care delivery standards integrating communication technology and collaboration.
Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains Continuing Education Records.
Contributes to performance improvement initiatives and evaluates clinical outcomes.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
Experience: Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse for Critical Care units 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
Preferred Qualifications:
(BSN) Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Two years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) experience on an inpatient Postpartum Unit.
