Job Description
Job Title:Data Analytics Intern
Primary Location:Grand Rapids MI
Employee Status: Part Time Hourly
About this position:
The Data Analytics Internshipoffers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in designing and optimizing data solutions that power analytics across LMCU. This role is ideal for students passionate about building scalable data systems and ensuring data quality to enable actionable insights. The Data Analytics Intern will work closely with our Data Engineering Business Intelligence and Data Governanceteams to develop robust data pipelines maintain data integrity and support enterprise analytics initiatives.
What youll do:
Develop and Optimize Data Pipelines:Assist in building ETL/ELT workflows to ingest transform and prepare data for analytics using SQL Python and cloud-based platforms.
Ensure Data Quality and Governance:Apply best practices for data validation integrity and compliance to maintain trusted datasets across the organization.
Create Analytical Assets:Support the development of dashboards reports and data models that enable business teams to make informed decisions.
Collaborate Across Teams:Work closely with Data Engineering Business Intelligenceand Data Governanceteams to align solutions with enterprise data strategy and governance standards.
Contribute to Innovation:Explore emerging technologies and techniques in data engineering to recommend improvements for scalability and performance.
What Youll Bring:
Education:Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SQLand Pythonfor data manipulation and pipeline development.
Familiarity with data engineering concepts(ETL pipelines data modeling cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP).
Exposure to data governance principlesand metadata management is a plus.
Analytical Mindset:Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with large complex datasets.
Tools:Experience with visualization tools (Power BI Tableau) and version control (Git).
Academic Performance:Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Soft Skills:Excellent communication collaboration and curiosity to learn in a fast-paced environment.
