The Opportunity

TECKperts client a government agency in Tallahassee FL is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join its Office of Information Technology team. The DBA will oversee the design optimization and maintenance of enterprise-level database systems across multiple platforms including DB2 for z/OS Oracle and SQL Server. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing database performance implementing schema changes and ensuring compliance with state-level security and performance standards.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Perform daily operational and administrative tasks for DB2 SQL Server Oracle and GIS databases.
• Plan design implement and support database structures to meet system and performance requirements.
• Conduct performance monitoring tuning and troubleshooting for production databases.
• Develop and maintain database documentation standard procedures and security protocols.
• Perform SQL code reviews and assist with schema optimization.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Mentor junior technical staff on database processes and best practices.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to coordinate deployments and updates.

Compensation and Term

This opportunity is for a full-time contract position with possibleextensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $145000per year. Medical dental vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.

Qualifications you need

A successful candidatehas the following experience:

• Bachelors in Computer Science Information Systems Business Administration Communications or related field.
• 15 years combined experience as a Database Administrator supporting DB2 for z/OS Oracle 10g and SQL Server 2008R2/2012.
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration performance management catalog maintenance and sub-system recovery.
• In-depth understanding of z/OS integrated platforms JCL ISPF RACF CICS and COBOL.
• Proficient with database monitoring tools and z/OS software performance tools.
• Solid experience with Oracle and SQL Server performance management and database administration.
• Experience with disaster recovery verification testing for infrastructure changes and AFOPER commands.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server SSMS SSRS SSIS Azure and BJS.
