Job Summary
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Remains standing at the school crossing in full view of passing traffic for a specified period of time.
- Guides and directs school children through busy intersections utilizing issued safety gear and hand motions to ensure pedestrian safety.
- Remain alert for possible safety concerns at school crossings.
- Reports equipment defects and traffic dangers.
- Call 911 if assistance is needed.
- Records and reports license number of potentially dangerous vehicles.
- Directs students to cross the street at the crossing signal.
- Reports incidents to supervisors
- Directs students to walk at the crossing point.
