Location: Various locations across Alberta
Medical Laboratory Scientists conduct complex tests and analyses to provide critical information for patient diagnosis and treatment. They also oversee laboratory operations and mentor MLTs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced laboratory tests and analyses on biological specimens.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Develop and validate new testing methods.
- Maintain laboratory quality control and compliance with regulations.
- Train and supervise laboratory personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to discuss findings and implications.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (e.g. ASCP CSMLS).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
