Bus Driver

Responsibility of a Bus Driver is to get passengers to their destinations safely and on time. They may also be required to perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking the oil fuel levels and tire pressure and notifying management of any major maintenance needs. They must follow traffic laws and state and federal transit regulations Ensures compliance with company and customer safety policies. Other duties may be assigned.

Bus Driver Responsibilities:

  • Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety.
  • Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops.
  • Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires brakes turn signals mechanical equipment etc.
  • Monitoring and reporting fuel consumption mileage and passenger numbers.
  • Reporting delays accidents and emergencies.
  • Inspecting the vehicle thoroughly before and after each trip.
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of the bus when required
  • Maintaining a clean vehicle.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Education no minimum education requirements.

Experience 4 years of maintenance and construction driving

Certification/License: A Valid Drivers License/CDL license with passenger endorsement
