Job Summary

  • Deliver instruction aligned with Arkansas State Standards school curriculum (e.g. Eureka Math IXL Generation Genius Khan Academy) and personalized learning plans.

  • Support students in developing foundational skills including literacy numeracy critical thinking and problem-solving.

  • Provide targeted reading intervention to students using evidence-based strategies and progress monitoring tools to address deficits in phonological awareness fluency vocabulary comprehension and overall literacy skills.

  • Work primarily with individual students and occasionally small groups to reinforce learning of materials and skills introduced by licensed staff.

  • Collaborate with General Education teachers to devise specialized strategies for reinforcing learning materials based on individual student needs interests and abilities.

  • Teach various subjects including art music PE and academic support RTI classes.

  • Provide support to teachers in addressing the instructional educational behavioral and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities both in the classroom and community settings.

  • Deliver small group or individualized instruction in alignment with students Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Reading Intervention Plans or other relevant plans.

  • Collect data related to instructional and behavioral objectives for each student including progress monitoring for reading intervention.

  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans for students with disabilities as necessary.

  • Maintain proactive communication with teachers to update them on student progress academic concerns and interactions with parents.

  • Respond promptly to emails and phone calls from school leaders and teachers.

  • Assist during standardized testing procedures in adherence to state and local policies.

  • Aid in preparing daily lesson materials and making copies for students including technological support.

  • Assist with the distribution of food supplies materials and technology.

  • Monitor student movement within the school premises and assist in maintaining a clean and sanitized environment.

  • Assist in the safe transition of students between locations within the school.

  • Participate in professional learning opportunities and assist in training volunteers.

  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance during regular business hours on-site.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by appropriate administrators.

  • Monitor and track student progress towards academic goals including literacy growth and reading proficiency benchmarks.

  • Conduct student and parent conferences as part of case management.

  • Coordinate student referrals to relevant services to address learning barriers.

  • Develop and deliver lessons targeting academic deficiencies and promoting readiness and skills development.

  • Track student assessment scores attendance and maintain documentation of advising sessions and student portfolios.



  • A Bachelors degree is desired with a minimum of 60 college hours completed.
  • Basic knowledge of childhood growth and development.
  • Ability to select and implement appropriate training/instructional methods and procedures.
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively supervise children.
  • General knowledge of relevant academic subjects for the position.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to operate effectively within an in-person learning environment.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students staff and parents in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of school safety and security procedures.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
