The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking applicants for a part-time Administrative Assistant in the College of Business Industry Life Science and Agriculture (BILSA). This 12-month 20-hour-per-week position provides advanced administrative support and coordination for college operations events and communications. The role serves as a key resource for faculty staff students and external partners overseeing office operations supporting event planning and outreach managing communications and supervising student employees.
This position offers an hourly wage of $20.00.
Provides leadership in the development planning coordination and implementation of College of BILSA events in alignment with institutional goals and priorities.
Coordinates logistics and secures resources for alumni and recruitment events (e.g. Homecoming BILSA Golf Outing STEM Career Exploration Day FFA CDEs Construction Career Day).
Serves as a primary point of contact for the BILSA Alumni Board Admissions Recruitment and other partners to facilitate meetings and events.
Develops edits and distributes newsletters recruitment materials and other communications in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Manages and maintains content for the BILSA webpages TV displays and social media platforms to ensure accurate and timely communication.
Develops implements and maintains electronic and physical records and systems related to College communications and events.
Provides general administrative support including greeting visitors answering phones purchasing supplies and ensuring smooth office operations.
Recruits trains and supervises student employees in the College office to support daily operations and special projects.
Assists with the planning and coordination of College of BILSA socials and events.
Performs additional duties as assigned to support the mission of the College.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel) and social media platforms including Facebook.
Ability to work independently exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities including events and communications.
