Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Progressive Care Unit (PCU) (Contract)
Location: Rochester NY
Shift: Night Shift 3x12 hours (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Hours: 36 per week
Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care/Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The unit is a step-down critical care environment caring for adult acute care patients requiring continuous monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. The RN will provide evidence-based patient-centered care managing patients with complex needs such as airway management BIPAP support arterial and central lines and titrated IV medications.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized nursing care in a 26-bed PCU/IMCU setting.
Monitor patients using continuous pulse-oximetry telemetry and other critical care monitoring.
Manage acute care needs including airway support BIPAP therapy arterial and central line care and titrated IV infusions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient-centered care.
Admit and transition patients from ED PACU ICU or medical-surgical floors.
Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records.
Adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and provide vigilant compassionate care.
Qualifications:
Active New York State RN license required.
Minimum 2 years of critical care or progressive care experience preferred.
Epic charting experience required.
Strong clinical assessment critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend requirements.
Ability to travel up to 75 miles if not local.
