Job Summary

The Development Assistant provides administrative and logistical support to development leadership and contributes to the success of OMSIs fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position helps ensure the smooth execution of the annual gala and other engagement events donor stewardship activities annual giving appeals gift acknowledgements and receipts and various donor engagement initiatives. The Assistant supports gift and data entry maintaining accurate records and processes in Salesforce.

Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Annual Giving this position works as a member of the highly collaborative development team to achieve annual financial goals and multi-year fundraising campaigns.


Qualified candidates will have but not limited to:

  • Minimum of 2 years of cumulative experience in an administrative/office position:
    • Demonstrated experience working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and talents in professional work environments;
    • Developed coordination and project management skills;
    • Experience utilizing tracking systems or tools in an office environment and contributing to system and process improvements;
    • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment often with stringent and overlapping deadlines.

The Development Assistant has an hourly pay of $26.97 and is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:

  • 2 weeks of vacation per year with no waiting period. Hours carry over year to year up to 200 hours;
  • 2 weeks of sick time per year with no waiting period. Hours carry over year to year up to 520 hours;
