BOI/Gaming Enforcement Division/Gaming Audit Section/Corporate Securities


The Gaming Enforcement Division is committed to the strict regulation and control of statutorily authorized gaming entities in conjunction with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB). The regulation of gaming and the enforcement of criminal gambling laws promote the publics health safety and welfare by safeguarding the people of this state against corrupt and dishonest practices.


The program also provides professional services in an effective innovative and fair manner that instills public confidence while fulfilling duties that ensure accurate revenue collection and reporting from licensees protect the states assets and ensure the integrity of all gaming devices and systems by enforcing compliance with all state laws regulations and licensees internal controls related to legally authorized gaming in Louisiana.


The Gaming Audit Section oversees and regulates riverboat casinos the land-based casino in New Orleans slots at the horse racetracks sports wagering operators/providers and video poker locations throughout Louisiana. It also enforces laws rules and regulations under the Gaming Statutes found in L.R.S. Title 27.The Corporate Securities Section is within the Gaming Audit Section and is responsible for conducting financial suitability investigations on applicants for licensure as well as monitor the financial stability of licensees and parent companies on an ongoing basis.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting auditing business finance management economics quantitative methods or information systems; OR

A bachelors degree with twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting auditing business finance management economics quantitative methods or information systems; OR

A bachelors degree in accounting auditing finance business administration management economics information systems quantitative methods or statistics; OR

A bachelors degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) designation; OR

An advanced degree in accounting auditing finance business administration management economics information systems quantitative methods or statistics; OR

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Perform audits of casinos to ascertain that all statues and regulatory requirements concerning casino revenue recognition accounting and cash controls and various other conditions are met.

  • Compiles work papers which consist of the auditors understanding of the licensees internal controls to the details that document the audit process and the information obtained.

  • Interact with casino representatives and personnel to obtain necessary information to conduct audits and to inform and/or instruct these persons of Division policies.

  • Plan and schedule work in accordance with established priorities to maximize efficient use of resources.

  • Determines if licensees are in compliance with Administrative Rules and Regulations the Louisiana Statutes and their accounting procedures and controls.

Work Schedule:Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM MondayFriday
Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Location: This vacancy is located in the Gaming Enforcement-Audit in the Office of State Police located in Bossier Parish.
