Job Summary

Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician Contract

Location: New York NY

Contract Duration:8 Week

Shift: Day Shift Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM

Hours: 37.5 40 hours per week

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Technician to join our healthcare team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in supporting ophthalmologists and providing high-quality patient care. This role involves performing a variety of eye-related clinical tasks maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring efficient workflow in a busy clinical setting.

Responsibilities:

Conduct preliminary patient eye examinations and collect medical/ocular histories.
Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity refraction tonometry and visual fields.
Assist physicians during eye examinations and minor procedures.
Administer eye drops and other ophthalmic medications as directed.
Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
Document findings accurately in patient records and electronic systems.
Educate patients on eye care procedures and follow-up instructions.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
Strong knowledge of ophthalmic equipment instruments and procedures.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a clinical team setting.
Certification (COA COT or equivalent) preferred but not always required.

Schedule & Compensation:

Contract: 8 weeks (possibility of extension)
Shift: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Hours per Week: 37.5
