POSITION DESCRIPTION
Perkins Coie is searching for a talented and driven Senior Network Engineer to join our team and help deliver robust future-ready network services across our global offices and data centers. This individual will be responsible for supporting our two data centers and 20 offices across the US UK and Asia and must have extensive experience working with routing and switching particularly in cloud environments such as Azure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code. These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.
- Architect and implement scalable network solutions for offices data centers and cloud-based solutions that function across the firms hybrid environment.
- Lead SD-WAN deployments and optimize segmentation and routing.
- Develop automations to improve team workflows and create flexible scalable solutions.
- Manage Catalyst Center for automation compliance and lifecycle management.
- Integrate Azure networking into hybrid enterprise designs.
- Act as escalation point for complex incidents.
- Team collaboration transparent communications and the ability to discuss complex technical concepts with technically-minded peers as well as non-technical stakeholders.
TRAVEL
This position may require travel.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
- Expert knowledge of Cisco routing switching and wireless technologies.
- Strong Cisco DS-WAN engineering experience.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and methods for implementation in hybrid environments.
- Develop documentation that defines solution architecture and supports operational aspects of solutions.
- Strong knowledge of and hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols and Cisco switching solutions in a multi-site distributed computing environment.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and if necessary write a summary of the appropriate factors that should be considered when assessing the viability of the technology in the Perkins environment and in applying the technology more generically.
- Proactive health checks of the network.

- Taking escalations and working break/fix incidents.
- Ability to work independently and function as an integral part of a team.
- Excellent customer service skills and negotiation skills.
SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED
Experience with automation/ orchestration (Ansible Terraform Python).
Familiarity with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow CMDB Incident/Change).
Knowledge of load balancing QoS and high availability design.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience.
Seven-plus years of enterprise networking experience.
Cisco CCNP Microsoft Azure AZ-700 certification or equivalent experience.
TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS
Cisco routing and switching (Catalyst platforms).
Cisco SD-WAN.
Automation/orchestration (Ansible Terraform Python).
Cisco Catalyst Center.
Azure Networking.
Observability tools (ThousandEyes SolarWinds Elastic).

This position may be filled in the following location(s). The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience skills market conditions and internal equity.
Colorado compensation range: $106010 to $166900 annually
Illinois compensation range: $111890 to $176150 annually
Washington D.C. compensation range: $120780 to $190140 annually
Washington state compensation range: $111830 to $176060 annually
