Room Leader (23 Years) Surbiton Nursery
Salary: Up to 30400
Our client a well established day nursery in Surbiton is looking for a passionate and experienced Room Leader to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Early Years professional ready to take the next step in leadership helping to shape a safe nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 23 years.
As Room Leader youll play a key role in guiding a dedicated team of practitioners ensuring high standards of care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a supportive forward-thinking setting that values both staff wellbeing and childrens development.
What Were Looking For
- Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working as a Room Leader Nursery Nurse or Senior Practitioner
- Strong understanding of EYFS and safeguarding requirements
- Ability to lead motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication skills and a warm approachable manner
- Commitment to inclusive practice and supporting every childs individual needs

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the 23 year room maintaining exceptional standards of childcare and learning
- Support mentor and supervise playroom staff fostering professional growth and teamwork
- Ensure children are allocated appropriately to key carers and that the key carer system is implemented effectively
- Promote a safe engaging and inclusive learning environment aligned with EYFS requirements
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers providing professional and supportive feedback
- Encourage best practice in safeguarding wellbeing and child development across the team
- Act as a role model inspiring colleagues and contributing to a positive nursery culture
