eSports Coach

POSITION INFORMATION

• The eSports Coach will be responsible for the eSports program district-wide at the 7-12 grade level as well as recruiting student participants for the program and coaching and devising strategy for the team. The eSports Coach will also provide key input into the selection of games and tournaments in which the team will participate.
• Practice times and duration of season to be determined by OSAA

Program Goals

• Create an inclusive environment for all students to learn and benefit from an organized esports competition.
• Engage and expand the Oregon esports community by supporting the OSAA mission and its current and future coaches.
• Foster curiosity in students as it relates to careers in esports gaming and other digital or STEAM related disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Tech knowledge that enables support necessary to run the program.

• Gaming experience involving multiplayer online video games necessary for team play.
• Coaching experience preferred.
• Ability to recruit and maintain numbers necessary for a successful team or teams.
• Ability to envision and drive growth for the eSports program.
• Self-motivated with the ability to resolve issues independently.
• Ability to maintain professional adult to student relations and communicate with parents as needed.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.

• Recruiting and retaining students for the eSports program.
• Conducting coaching and instruction activities during training practice and competition.
• Providing guidance and input on games selected for competition
• Coordinating practice and competition schedules.
• Coordinating team travel when necessary.
• Pursuing sponsorship opportunities within the eSports business world.
• Ensuring team compliance with all league conference and institutional rules and regulations that may apply.
• Continuously ensuring personal behavior and program reputation are in alignment with the Coos Bay School District standards.
• Communicate updates and information needed to incorporate the eSports program into MHS as a club sport.

SALARY

$144-$3765
