Job Summary
Description: Shawsheen Valley Technical High School is seeking a School Psychologist School Adjustment Counselor or Licensed School Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year. The individual selected to fill this position will provide individual counseling to students and complete social-emotional screening/assessment as part of a students Special Education initial or re-eligibility determination. This is a full-time school-year :-Masters Degree or higher in Special Education Psychology and/or Counseling/Related Services-Massachusetts DESE licensure as a School Psychologist School Adjustment Counselor or School Counselor-Evaluation and assessment experience-Experience providing direct counseling to adolescent students-Experience with and understanding of special education process and regulations-Excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and oral-Ability to work effectively with a wide range of team members and providers both in and out of district-Strong organizational skills flexibility and ability to work within timelines-Skilled at building rapport with adolescent students while maintaining appropriate boundariesResponsibilities:-Complete social emotional assessments and develop reports for special education initial and re-evaluations-Collaborate with team members to support the development of academic and social-emotional goals for students with different abilities strengths needs and interventions that help students progress to their goals-Work effectively with parents teachers related service provides and other stakeholders-Provide individual counseling to students-Responsible for implementing other job-related duties as assignedShawsheen Valley Technical High School in accordance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 does not discriminate on the basis of sex sexual orientation gender identity sex stereotypes sex characteristics marital status familial status pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions and prohibits sex discrimination in any education program or activity that it operates as required by Title IX including in admission and employment.
