Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of OIT Infrastructure the Server Administrator maintains Shaw Universitys enterprise
server and cloud environment including 100 Windows servers on Hyper-V with SAN storage. The role involves
system updates/patching Microsoft 365/Entra ID administration endpoint management and imaging
(ManageEngine Endpoint Central) as well as security/compliance support.
Essential Job Functions:
Administer Hyper-V hosts VMs and Windows Server services; monitor capacity performance and
uptime.
Manage SAN storage backups and recovery procedures.
Administer AD DS/DNS/GPO and Microsoft Entra ID; manage user lifecycle and MFA.
Operate Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online Teams SharePoint) and related tenant settings.
Lead patch management OS/app updates and firmware upgrades using ManageEngine Endpoint
Central.
Create and maintain standard desktop/laptop images and oversee endpoint deployments.
Implement security baselines; assist with vulnerability remediation and NIST SP 800-171 controls.
Provide Tier-2/3 escalation support; document systems procedures and asset inventories.
Coordinate with vendors for support repairs and procurement.

Minimum Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors in IT/CS or related field (or equivalent experience).
3 years in systems/server administration (Windows Server virtualization AD M365).
Hands-on experience with patching backups and endpoint management tools.
Preferred Certificates Licenses or Registrations
Microsoft certification (e.g. MCSA Azure Administrator) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Experience with ManageEngine Endpoint Central (or Intune/SCCM) PowerShell automation and
SAN/NAS.
Security/Network Microsoft 365 Certified or relevant cloud/security certs.
Higher-education or similar enterprise environment experience.

Physical Demands
