The opportunity:
You will be part of the HVDC Research and Development team working on Control and Protection schemes as a thesis worker. The project focuses on the development of methods fortransmission linefault location in multi-terminal HVDC (MTDC) networks. With the increasing complexity and scale of HVDC technology innovative and reliable fault location solutions are crucial for ensuring safe and efficient operation of future HVDC grids.
How youll make an impact:
Conduct research on existing fault location techniques for multi-terminal HVDC systems.
Investigate industry trends and state-of-the-art research in HVDC transmission line fault detection and localization.
Develop algorithms for faulty location using voltage and current measurements from multiple converter stations.
Implement and test the developed methods through simulation tools (e.g. PSCAD/EMTDC MATLAB/Simulink).
Evaluate and compare the performance of the methods under different fault scenarios and operating conditions.
Document your results and propose improvements for practical implementation in HVDC protection systems.
Live Hitachi Energys core values of safety and integrity taking responsibility for your actions while caring for colleagues and the business.
