Job Description
High Angle Rescue Technician
Total Safety Services is hiring High Angle Rescue/Confined Space Rescue Technician for shift work of 2 weeks on 1 off. 1 week of High Angle Rescue Lead 1 week of Confined Space Rescue Technician. We are seeking candidates with direct work experience in the Oil and Gas industry and valid Rope Rescue training. Candidates must be local to Bonnyville.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Perform high angle rescue stand-by;
- Assist in developing site-specific rescue plans and procedures;
- Perform on-site safety watch confined space entry watch and atmospheric testing spark/fire watch and gas detection as required;
- Provide support to ensure that all on-site personnel work in a safe manner and comply with company and regulatory/legislative requirements for Occupational Health & Safety;
- Follow and be an advocate for all rules policies and procedures as per the clients health and safety program the Companys HSE program and all other applicable legislation;
- Intervene in unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and take appropriate action to influence safe behaviors and to create a safe working environment;
- Champion the Companys safety culture and safe work practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year field safety experience;
- Minimum required safety tickets: H2S Alive Standard First Aid CSO Confined Space Entry/Monitor Confined Space Rescue and Fall Protection Fire Watch;
- High Angle Rope Rescue or equivalent certification (Minimum 40 hour certification);
- Valid Drivers License and the ability to produce a clean drivers abstract;
- Must be willing to work outdoors work an irregular schedule (including night shifts and weekends) and travel to various client sites;
- Capable of working with limited supervision and able to exercise initiative and sound judgement.
