ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets visitors to the office in a professional and friendly manner
Responds to mail emails voicemails and telephone calls
Assists other staff members when time energy and skill permit
Maintains accurate records and takes minutes of meetings as directed by pastor
Serves as secretary to the pastor
Performs all payroll activities including onboarding employees employee data maintenance time & labor vacation and sick accrual and processes payroll
Attends parish meetings as required and takes minutes
Keeps vital statistics for the parish
Keeps pastor informed of vital concerns within the parish
Creates a weekly bulletin
Schedules Eucharistic ministers
Clips and files all newspaper ads and articles concerning the parish
Maintains positive relationship with parish council members and other volunteers
Maintains a reasonable inventory of church supplies
Handles routine questions about policies
Preparation of payroll associated taxes and reports
Prepare bank deposits and records receipts
Prepare vouchers including coding and payment of outstanding invoices
Reconciles parish school and cemetery books if applicable
Prepares financial statements as requested
Attends parish finance council meetings as requested
Maintains tuition and school accounts if applicable
Performs other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Computer and organizational skills
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
3 5 years previous training or experience as a bookkeeper
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Intermediate and accurate mathematical skills
TYPICAL WORK HOURS/DAYS OF WEEK
