Job Description

At Vast our mission is to contribute to a future where billions of people are living and thriving in space. We are building artificial gravity space stations allowing long-term stays in space without the adverse effects of zero-gravity. Our initial crewed space habitat will be Haven-1 scheduled to be the worlds first commercial space station when it launches into low earth orbit in May 2026. Vast is looking for an Inventory Coordinator II reporting to the Manager Logistics to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities:

  • Stock and issue of parts materials and hardware to support site operations
  • Perform picking function to make up necessary kits of parts material and hardware as required ascertaining that all parts are available and accounted for in kit
  • Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock
  • Perform routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Perform good housekeeping safety and 5S practices in area
  • May operate forklift or hand truck to move convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
  • Assist with generating compliant manufacturing documentation and engage interdepartmentally with quality and purchasing functions for work in an ISO certified environment.
  • Constantly aware of available materials to ensure availability to customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1 years of inventory control experience
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with automated parts tracking system.
  • Experience with generating manufacturing documentation.
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted

Pay Range:

  • Inventory Coordinator I: $20.00 - $27.00
  • Inventory Coordinator II: $24.00 - $31.00

Salary Range: California

$20 - $31 USD

U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls and therefore must either be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing. This status includes U.S. citizens U.S. nationals lawful permanent residents (green card holders) and asylees and refugees with such status granted not pending.
