We are seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to lead the design and delivery of both new and rehabilitation bridge projects. This position involves overseeing project schedules budgets and scopes while ensuring compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in structural design proven leadership ability and experience working with transportation agencies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Lead the structural design and management of bridge projects from concept through construction.
Prepare contract documents specifications and bid packages; provide oversight during construction phase services.
Monitor project schedules scopes and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
Direct and mentor design engineers and CAD/drafting staff.
Collaborate with subconsultants and internal teams to maintain coordination across disciplines.
Build and maintain professional relationships with clients presenting technical solutions clearly and effectively.
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and design calculations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters preferred).
1020 years of experience in structural/bridge design.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland (or ability to obtain).
Proficiency in structural design for steel reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete components.
Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards.
Background in managing projects for state transportation agencies (Maryland DOT experience strongly preferred).
Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative environment.
