Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead the structural design and management of bridge projects from concept through construction.
- Prepare contract documents specifications and bid packages; provide oversight during construction phase services.
- Monitor project schedules scopes and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
- Direct and mentor design engineers and CAD/drafting staff.
- Collaborate with subconsultants and internal teams to maintain coordination across disciplines.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients presenting technical solutions clearly and effectively.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and design calculations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters preferred).
- 1020 years of experience in structural/bridge design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland (or ability to obtain).
- Proficiency in structural design for steel reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete components.
- Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards.
- Background in managing projects for state transportation agencies (Maryland DOT experience strongly preferred).
- Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative environment.
