The Delft department Advanced Development & Studies (ADS) Sensors specializes among other things in new radar concepts and algorithms. Approximately 50 people work in Delft about a quarter of whom are part of ADS Sensors.
About the assignment
In this assignment methods will be conceived developed and tested on quantum computers to help solve radar-related problems that would require significant computing power using classical methods. The goal of this project is to demonstrate the added value of a quantum solution in the context of complex military radar consultation with the internship supervisors a suitable problem will be formulated and developed using a quantum algorithm after which its functionality and performance can be assessed through simulations.
Affinity
A solid background in physics/mathematics is required as well as an affinity for algorithms and (ideally) electromagnetism. Knowledge of and some experience with quantum computing and quantum simulation packages such as Qiskit is a plus as is programming in Python.
