Job Summary

The Music Teacher will play a significant role in fostering a love for music among learners in Grades 1 to 3. The ideal candidate is a native German speaker with a strong pedagogical background focused on young learners. They will provide music education that inspires creativity and innovation while also being involved in extra-curricular activities such as choirs or percussion events. This position requires collaboration with fellow teachers and a commitment to developing students musical talents in a diverse educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide engaging music lessons to students in Grades 1 to 3 focusing on interactive learning methods.
Incorporate instruments such as guitar and piano into lessons.
Lead and prepare students for performances and school events.
Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the music curriculum and extra-curricular offerings.
Encourage and facilitate group activities that build teamwork and collaboration among students.
Assess and evaluate the musical progress of students regularly.
Adapting teaching methods to cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
Balancing curricular demands with the preparation for school performances.

Qualifications and Skills

Pedagogical degree for the age group 5 - 10 years from an accredited institution.
Proficient in German at a mother-tongue level.
Musical competency in playing guitar and/or piano.
Experience in teaching music to groups of young learners.
Innovative and experimental approaches to teaching music.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
Willingness to engage in extra-curricular activities.

Clear criminal record check.
South African citizenship permanent residency or valid work permit.
