Job Description Summary
The FIFO HVAC Technician is responsible for performing both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks within their trade discipline. The role involves collaborating with the Facilities Team to efficiently execute the required tasks and services in line with the terms of the contract. The HVAC Technician ensures full compliance with all contract specifications and adheres to Cushman & Wakefield business systems and standards.
You will be working remotely - 12 hour shifts 2 weeks onsite at client premises then 2 weeks off shift. All flights meals and accommodation are covered.

Job Purpose:
The responsibilities of the HVAC Technician include:
- Carry out Preventative and Reactive general maintenance duties within own trade discipline.
- Liaise with Facilities Team to efficiently carry out the tasks and services required.
- Full compliance and consistency with the contract and Cushman & Wakefield business systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations
- Assemble install test and maintain heating cooling and refrigeration equipment appliances apparatus and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Ensure efficient and continuous operation by ventilating equipment and controls.
- Perform maintenance work on cooling units.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions.
- Inspect and maintain refrigerators and chilled water supply systems as required.
- Inspect and maintain the Building Management System (BMS).
- Undertake other duties as requested.
- Wear appropriate protective clothing and/or equipment.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws regulations codes and standards.
- Ensure full compliance with Cushman & Wakefield business systems including the Quality Management System (QMS) Occupational Health & Safety System (OH&S) and Environmental Management System.
- Understand WHSE requirements and processes for work tasks and the elimination of workplace hazards.
- Participate in near-miss hazard and incident reporting and follow up on corrective actions.
- Conduct work activities in accordance with proper procedures equipment and training and in line with Cushman & Wakefield Management Systems.
- Report hazards unsafe work practices near misses or incidents immediately to your supervisor.
Customer:
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with other trades staff clients client sub-contractors suppliers and consultants.
- Manage the contract and service delivery in accordance with Contract KPIs & client expectations of your role.
- Regularly evaluate objectives and plans to ensure continual improvement and alignment with changing project and client priorities.
- Develop a solid understanding of the clients business and needs working in collaboration with client to develop new and different ways of working together.
Required Competencies:
- Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
- 1 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Ability to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible innovative approach to problems and opportunities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills
