The Operations Manager oversees daily chemical manufacturing operations including production planning manufacturing and maintenance. This role ensures adherence to safety and environmental regulations drives continuous improvement and builds a high-performing accountable team. The Operations Manager works closely with the Plant Manager and cross-functional teams to meet goals related to production quality cost and safety while fostering a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all health safety and environmental regulations.
Oversee production planning and manufacturing operations to meet customer and business demands.
Supervise and support team members including hourly staff and production leaders to ensure safe efficient and high-quality output.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity reduce costs and optimize operational efficiency.
Coach and develop team members through training performance management and professional growth opportunities.
Set clear performance expectations monitor progress and promote accountability across the team.
Conduct root cause analyses for production process and quality issues; implement corrective actions as needed.
Collaborate with the Plant Manager and other departments on budgeting capital projects documentation and compliance with regulatory and ISO standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
5 years of experience in operations within a manufacturing environment (chemical manufacturing strongly preferred).
Solid understanding of chemical manufacturing operations process equipment automation systems (PLC/DCSpreferably DeltaV) and safe work practices.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach develop and guide teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
Proficient in computer systems and business software; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.
Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations within the chemical manufacturing industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
7 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing operations.
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).
Experience developing and managing annual operating budgets.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $91800.00 and $153100.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills experience and other factors permitted by law.Required Experience:
