Consultant Conversion QA Engineer III

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design development delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. Software Quality Engineering Center of Enablement (SQE COE) partners with Wealth Management development teams and partner technology organizations to enable the delivery of technology solutions to our business in the most efficient predictable manner possible. As a QA Lead - ETL in WM STO youll have a chance to design / develop testing approach & strategy and execute a critical role in ensuring the quality accuracy and reliability of the WM data pipelines that drive strategic business insights and analytics.

What youll do in the role:

• Providing technical and thought leadership to testing teams as Wealth Management digitally transform to a cloud based DevOps and Agile technology solution

• Responsible for crafting and executing a Strategic game plan that includes Resource Management Budget and Forecast Allocations Team and Individual Goal Setting Education and Implementation of Agile Methodology Build-Out of Automation Portfolio and Training.

• Collaborate with Business Operations and Technology leads to develop build out and execute Integration programs

• Represent collective testing teams within meetings with Senior Leadership

• Review requirement specifications identify gaps and determine testability and testing implications

• Work with Test Manager and other Test Analysts to plan and execute testing tasks

• Design develop and execute test strategies and test cases for ETL test processes and data pipelines

• Ensure that team is in full compliance with the execution of test scripts and documentation of the results

• Log defects in defect tracking system and follow entered defects through lifecycle of creation to resolution

• Perform periodic oversight of test reports to ensure that appropriate severities and priorities are being assessed to defects

• Collaborate with ETL developers data engineers BAs and internal QA team to align testing efforts with business requirements

• Should be able to perform comprehensive data validations transformation testing and data reconciliation across multiple systems and databases

• Ensure training is performed within team on new technologies

• Development & management of reports dashboards using BI tools such as Tableau QlikView etc.

What youll bring to the role:

• 10 years experience with data validations ETL testing and data warehousing solutions in a large financial service organization or major consulting organization

• 5 years of experience of leading large-scale QA programs. Experience in collaborating effectively across a variety of IT and business groups across regions roles and able to interact effectively with all levels

• Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries stored procedures functions and implement performance tuning measures.

• Hands on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica Datastage SSIS etc is expected.

• Hands on experience with Snowflake data cloud including snowsql virtual warehouses and cloud integration is expected. Basic understanding of Snowflake schemas dimensional modeling is a must.

• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem including hive HDFS and Spark is a big plus.

• Proficiency with data testing tool such as iCEDQ is a big plus.

• Exposure to Adobe experience platform DB - PostgreSQL is an added advantage.

• Exposure to python shell scripting GIT Jenkins and test automation pipelines.

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure AWS or GCP is an added advantage.

• Working knowledge of tool and technologies like TeamCity JIRA ALM

• Well versed with approaches like BDD Keyword Driven and Data Driven test automation

• Good to have understanding of model-based testing

• Understanding of Agile/Waterfall development process and is comfortable diving into the technical architecture of complex and highly scalable solutions

• Excellent leadership communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Experience in presenting to diverse audiences and conducting education and training

• Expertise with crafting sr. management presentations and documentation of change requests

• Experience with project management tools & functions (MS Visio MS Project JIRA Confluence SharePoint)

• Development background is helpful

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120000 and $165000 per year at the commencement of employment. However base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings incentive compensation discretionary bonuses other short and long-term incentive packages and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
