Our Water and Energy Coordination team are currently seeking to appoint a Senior Water Strategy Officer to join their small and collaborative team.
The Water and Energy Coordination team in the Water Groups Strategy and Policy Division coordinates and leads the Water Groups role in delivering the Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and Renewable Energy Zones in support of NSW Governments Net Zero commitments. Our work is a combination of detailed analysis of technical information fast-paced coordination and lots of collaboration and communication.
The Senior Water Strategy Officer contributes to the delivery and implementation of strategic projects and expert advice to inform decision making. The role provides information and advice to ensure that key internal and external stakeholders consider a broad range of issues and factors related to water and wastewater needs in the energy sector when making decisions.
Please note there may be some regional travel to engage with local councils and other agencies.
About You
To be successful in the role you will have extensive experience in water related areas such as water planning natural resource management environmental science economics geomorphology civil/environmental engineering and hydrology.
You will also have demonstrated experience using water resource management modelling and databases providing considered data driven advice within short timeframes to key internal and external stakeholders.
With strong communication skills you are able to effectively contribute to consultations negotiations and cross-sector partnership arrangements on sensitive water management arrangements.
You are self-motivated and have a genuine interest in maintaining knowledge of contemporary trends and developments in approaches to strategic water management.
