About The Job:
The Telemetry Technician provides ongoing observation and identification of cardiac rhythms; prepares and maintains telemetry records and maintains a functioning telemetry system.
What you will do:
Observes and interprets cardiac rhythms.
Records ECG strips at designated intervals and as changes occur.
Prints cardiac rhythm strips as needed.
Notifies RN of all changes in rhythm and heart rate.
Maintains telemetry records.
Ensures proper functioning of telemetry system. Trouble shoots equipment problems.
Updates Communication Board.
Communicates with internal/external customers/colleagues in a courteous positive empathic and professional manner. Displays excellent telephone etiquette. Speaks to everyone. Always communicates with care. Speaks calmly clearly and courteously. Stops and listens when a customer/colleague speaks. Communicates consistently
Hours:
Part Time Nights: 7pm - 730am.
What we are looking for:
Education:
High school education or equivalent
Experience:
Demonstrated competence working with patients is preferred.
Special Skills and Competencies:
Communicates effectively.
Demonstrates ability to understand and follow direction.
Demonstrates responsiveness to needs of patients peers and professional staff.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Demonstrates the ability to identify cardiac rhythms.
Demonstrates basic computer skills
Must display proper telephone etiquette.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider American Heart Association; or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 3 years.
Completes Cardiac Dysrhythmias and Management class or equivalent within 3 months of hire and annual skill validation for Cardiac Dysrhythmias.
