Job Summary

The City of Topeka is seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join its Information Technology team. This position plays a critical role in managing and maintaining Citys SQL-based database systems ensuring data integrity security and performance across all departments.

What youll do:

Manage the full database management lifecycle including design implementation monitoring backup and recovery.
Implement and enforce database security policies in compliance with government standards.
Lead or support systems integration projects.
Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy consistency and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field is required OR
- An Associates degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field is acceptable WITH two years of SQL Server database administration experience OR
- A High School Diploma or its equivalent is acceptable WITH four years of SQL Server database administration experience.
Demonstrated experience with Power BI SSRS SAP Crystal Reports Tableau Dash Cognos or similar reporting tools is required.
Microsoft SQL Server certification for RDBMS databases (e.g. MCSA MCSE) is preferred.
Experience in a government or public sector IT environment is preferred.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g. CJIS NIST or other governmental security requirements) is preferred.
Must be able to pass an extensive background check.

Annual Entry Salary: $63865 - $76638
