We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Hydraulic Modeller with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience to join Climate Adaptation team Water at Ramboll. The candidate must have expertise in hydraulic and hydrological modelling using HEC and the MIKE suite and strong analytical and communication skills. Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and data handling will be considered a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 1D 2D and coupled hydraulic models using HEC-RAS (1D/2D) and MIKE (MIKE HydroRiver/21/URBAN Mike).
- Conduct flood risk assessments inundation mapping dam break and drainage analyses.
- Collect process and analyse hydrological and meteorological data for model development.
- Calibrate and validate models against observed flood events to ensure reliability and accuracy.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports maps and visualisations to communicate modelling outcomes effectively.
- Support the design and evaluation of flood management measures (levees retention basins stormwater systems etc.).
- Collaborate with engineers hydrologists GIS specialists and environmental experts across projects.
- Engage with stakeholders and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards guidelines and client specifications.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in civil engineering or water resources or Hydrology or related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in hydraulic and hydrological modelling.
- Proficiency in HEC Suite and MIKE suite.
- Strong skills in GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) for pre- and post-processing of model data.
- Excellent report-writing and verbal communication skills to convey technical results clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to handle multiple projects.
- Expertise in Python scripting preferred (automation data analysis model post-processing).
