Our client a nationally recognised law firm with a leading infrastructure and planning practice is seeking an infrastructure consenting-focused Managing Associate to join their dynamic team. This role offers the chance to become part of a wider group of named experts with robust support and clear pathways for professional growth.

About the Role

As a Managing Associate in the Planning & Infrastructure Consenting team youll work on complex high-impact projects across various sectors and regions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert planning and infrastructure consenting advice across sectors such as:
    • Renewable energy
    • Transport infrastructure
    • Housing developments
    • Commercial real estate
    • Industrial and logistics
    • Public sector projects
  • Managing complex infrastructure consenting matters including:
    • Development consent orders
    • Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs)
    • Local and strategic planning applications
    • Environmental impact assessments
    • Compulsory purchase and land assembly
  • Advising clients on strategic planning and consenting strategies
  • Drafting and negotiating complex legal documentation
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas
  • Contributing to business development efforts
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Engaging in continuous professional development

What Were Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 3-5 years post-qualification experience in planning and infrastructure law
  • Strong technical knowledge of planning and infrastructure consenting processes
  • Proven experience in managing complex infrastructure projects
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Keen eye for detail and self-motivated approach
  • Enthusiasm for professional growth and development

Desirable:

  • Experience across multiple infrastructure and planning sectors
  • Knowledge of renewable energy and sustainable development projects
  • Understanding of environmental impact assessment processes
  • Track record of successful project delivery
  • Additional planning or environmental law qualifications
