Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with hands-on experience in ETL development using Pentaho (PDI) and strong proficiency in PL/SQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows to support business intelligence and reporting needs. This role involves close collaboration with local teams and will also include BAU/KTLO support activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Design develop and maintain ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI)
Import/export data and add new data sources based on evolving business needs
Provide data extracts in line with business requirements
Monitor and maintain ETL jobs to ensure reliability and performance
Troubleshoot failed jobs identify root causes and implement fixes
Optimize and improve existing ETL workflows for better performance and maintainability
Review extracts on the reporting server and adapt as needed (e.g. converting numeric to string values)
Handle incident tickets related to data issues; validate and correct data at the database level when necessary
Gain functional understanding of key data processing activities such as scorecard extraction data import/export flows
Automate routine ETL jobs especially import jobs
Provide day-to-day operational support (BAU/KTLO) and act as a trusted partner to local teams
Qualifications :
Must-Have Skills:
Strong experience with Pentaho Data Integration (PDI)
Proficient in PL/SQL and relational database concepts
Solid understanding of ETL concepts and data integration best practices
Ability to troubleshoot and debug data issues effectively
Good-to-Have Skills:
Strong knowledge of Java (for custom scripting or plugin development within Pentaho)
Experience with reporting servers or BI platforms
Familiarity with data quality and data governance principles
