This Engineering Co-op position will work with the Avionics Advanced Manufacturing team in the Burnsville MN facility. Were looking for an engineering student interested in learning engineering principles used in manufacturing to help us develop the next generation of next generation aerospace manufacturing technology. If selected you will become familiar with Industry 4.0 concepts state of the art manufacturing techniques and driving adoption technology in a production setting.

Immerse yourself in a full-time Monday-Friday co-op session that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

  • Identify use cases for new technology manufacturing tools and machines.
  • Designs and plans layout for Smart factory assembly and materials handling equipment
  • Help plan and participate in process flow design.
  • Analysis of various manufacturing data i.e. Work In Process (WIP) Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Research and report on design concepts to optimize deployment of manufacturing techniques.
  • Some travel required up to 10%

What You Will Learn:

  • Will gain knowledge about IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things) and how it can be used to optimize existing manufacturing processes.
  • Understand how to use the mass amount of data collected from Smart Factory solutions.
  • How to work within a team to inspire positive change in manufacturing operations.
  • Reporting and presentation skills
