Job Duties

Hiram W. Davis Medical Center is one of 12 inpatient facilities operated by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

Hiram W. Davis Medical Center located in Petersburg Virginia is a 94-bed medical facility providing acute medical diagnoses skilled care intermediate care and long-term care to individuals receiving services in DBHDS facilities and within the community that have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Admissions to HWDMC are generally either permanent placement or special hospitalization. Patients typically come to HWDMC as a special hospitalization for step-down to stabilize post-surgery rehabilitation or long-term care.

We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform and process XRays with radiography equipment and submit/transmit them to a Radiologist for interpretation. Unload portable XRay equipment and take into facilities to perform exams ordered by the physician. Must obtain clinically diagnostic technically competent xray images. Perform EKGs (as needed) and transmit them to a Cardiologist for interpretation. Scan exam related paperwork/billing documents on a daily basis per protocol. Regularly communicate with dispatch and management. Communicate efficiently and interact professionally with peers supervisory staff and clients. Maintain vehicle and xray equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Certification by the ARRT or eligible for certification.
Ability to accurately and efficiently use Electronic Health Records (EHR/Cerner).
Knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication (PACS) system.
Knowledge of GE X-ray equipment.

Additional Considerations

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate by the American Heart Association is preferred.
Dual certification in Ultrasound and x-ray is preferred.
Previous experience working in a long-term care skilled nursing or mental health facility is preferred.
