As part of our long-term strategy to elevate our Medical organization and transform the lives of 14.5 million patients each year we are seeking an Associate Director Global Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC). This role will serve as a strategic medical leader within the Global Medical Oncology team supporting the SCLC portfolio. This role will be accountable for shaping and executing global medical strategies ensuring alignment across geographies and driving scientific excellence & supporting fearless execution throughout the products lifecycle. The incumbent will collaborate cross-functionally and cross-regionally to translate clinical insights into actionable strategies that support safe and effective use of BMS products globally. Position reports to the Senior Director Medical Product Lead (MPL) of Targeted Therapies and SCLC.

Key Responsibilities

  • In line with MPLs and Disease Area Head direction shape Global medical strategy for assets (primarily but not limited to atigotatug as appropriate) being developed in SCLC in collaboration with the cross functional teams and in alignment with GPTs priorities accounting for patient unmet medical needs and Market insights

  • Collaborate with Medical Communications (MedComms) leads for the overall successful delivery of Global/US Medical Communications plans (e.g. publications scientific content scientific narrative symposia global independent medical educations standard response letters)

  • In collaboration with MedComms and WW/International Markets Medical Learning ensure Market Medical colleagues including Field Medical teams have adequate information training and materials on the assets and disease area for impactful communication with external stakeholders

  • In partnership with the Medical Evidence Generation organization develop/update asset/indication Integrated Evidence Plans (IEPs). Co-lead workstreams to identify evidence gaps to address unmet needs and to define and support global/US execution of these opportunities. Develop prioritized IEPs that conform to the Medical Value Framework for execution across modalities including Investigator sponsored research Medical Affairs Sponsored Trials RWD and Clinical Research Collaborations

  • Partner closely with medical colleagues in the Markets with Clinical Research Regulatory Commercial Access Health Outcomes MedComms Competitive intelligence and other key functions and stakeholders (e.g. EDAP) for successful and aligned strategy on the asset(s) and indication(s)

  • Provide program highlights/updates to Department and/or corporate leadership as requested

  • Develop and maintain long-term collaborative peer-to-peer relationships with key global/US thought leaders in alignment with markets/other cross functional partners to ensure efficient and impactful KOL collaboration

  • If applicable develop impactful managed access programs for pre-launch assets to ensure inclusive access to our medicines in a equitable manner globally.

  • Ensure allocated budget and resources are appropriately spent to plan and consistent with business needs and in compliance with policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD PhD PharmD or equivalent) required.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferably in medical affairs or clinical development within oncology.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Oncology with a strong understanding of thoracic and emerging tumor biology (preferably in SCLC).

  • Proven ability to lead and influence in a global matrixed environment.

  • Experience developing and executing global medical strategies and evidence generation plans.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with a track record of delivering results in deadline-driven environments.

  • Deep understanding of global drug development regulatory processes and market access dynamics.

  • Estimated travel: up to 30% as applicable

Compensation Overview:

Princeton - NJ - US: $166350 - $201571

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job such as required skills where the job is performed the employees work schedule job-related knowledge and experience. Final individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
