Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Liverpool to assist with the appointment of an Independent Reviewing & Child Protection Officer on a 3-month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 26.27 - 34.86 per hour

Summary:

To independently chair Looked After Children Reviews Secure Accommodation Reviews Child Sexual Exploitation meetings and Missing from Care meetings in line with statutory requirements and guidance. The postholder will ensure compliance with legislation safeguard the welfare of children in care and provide robust oversight of care planning and service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently chair statutory Looked After Children Reviews Secure Accommodation Reviews Child Sexual Exploitation meetings and Missing from Care meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation regulations and statutory guidance relating to Looked After Children.
  • Monitor and quality assure care plans placements and support packages challenging service provision where necessary.
  • Ensure the voice of the child is heard recorded and fully considered in all decision-making.
  • Provide oversight of inter-agency working for Looked After Children services.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised professional Social Work qualification (DipSW CQSW or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years permanent post-qualification experience to comply with DfE regulations.

Requirements:

  • Registration with Social Work England.

Experiences:

  • Substantial post-qualification experience in Looked After Children work.
  • Recent experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer.
  • Full knowledge and understanding of Looked After Children legislation processes and regulatory framework.
  • Experience working in partnership with children carers and other agencies.
  • Experience chairing statutory decision-making meetings.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
