Postition: Indoor Percussion Director
The indoor percussion director is in charge of overseeing the indoor percussion season (December until April). Duties include the following:
- Making the season schedule
- Two 3 hour weekday rehearsals and a 4-12 hour day on Saturdays depending on potential events
- Reserving room usage
- Reserving bus usage
- Coordinating with Penske for truck usage
- Signing up for competitions
- Releasing rehearsal schedules and coordinating with the other staff
- Relaying information to staff and meeting with them to discuss the season
- Designing the show
- Picking the music (most indoor shows is original music with one familiar song)
- Creating uniforms
- Designing the floor
- Designing the props
- Hiring and coordinating the drill
- Planning and teaching show choreography
- Recruiting students getting students to sign-up
- Offering open drum nights
- Running ensemble rehearsals
- Organizing due payments with the boosters
- Creating a spreadsheet for budget discussions
Requirements: Act 24 Arrest/Conviction Certification; Act 34 Criminal Clearance; Act 151 Child Line Clearance; Act 114 FBI Fingerprinting Security Clearances; Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release and SafeSchools Training
