Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Leads a team that formulates and applies analytical approaches in the development and application of forecasting and optimization models across global UPR locations in the areas of workforce planning demand forecasting generating EBITDA operations research and maximizing guest throughput and experience. Deliver findings with visual tools and presentations that inform and inspire internal stakeholders to make better business decisions. Research and develop strategies to enhance models and system development and reduce forecasting error rates. Partner with client groups to identify plan and implement enhancements. Lead Data Scientists on the use of advanced model development methodologies and enhance system technologies to support the business.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team of Data Scientists and individually participate in formulating and applying advance analytical approaches in the development of workforce planning forecasting operations research and optimization models across all divisions and parks. Support and guide Data Scientists on the use of advanced model development and optimization techniques across other team verticals and other parks. Develop strategies to effectively utilize Operations Research tools and processes to support initiatives.
- Anticipate and communicate changes in workforce planning and landscape to partners and the BAIE team to ensure the Workforce Analytics System evolves to address these changes. Supports the Workforce Planning team in the development of new functionality needed to support new strategies by providing leadership in one or more of the following areas: full life-cycle of iterative big data exploration (including algorithm development and data cleansing) algorithm and system testing or insight generation/visualization.
- Drives the Workforce planning team to establish key performance tracking metrics and monitor ongoing performance; validate and optimize workforce planning models and process assumptions and settings on an ongoing basis. Add test and adjust new model enhancements to improve the accuracy of recommendations.
- Establishes key performance metrics for the Workforce Planning team to monitor ongoing staffing labor and forecasting performance and validate and optimize assumptions. Communicates results to stakeholders and Business Partners.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors and Masters degree is required.
- MS and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering Operations Research Management Science Mathematics Statistics or equivalent is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 9 years of experience in the field of operations research optimization or in a related area.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work through complex problems
- Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely in both written and oral formats
- Strong interpersonal technical and presentation skills required
- There may be alternate hours required to meet with BAIE Team Members in different time zones.
