Job Description

Host Family Coordinator
Temporary (12 months) Full Time 35 Hours/Week
Program: Wellington Host Family Services
Rate of pay: $29.48 - $35.20
Closing Date - October 12 2025 at 11:59PM

The Host Family Coordinator is responsible to promote recruit coordinate monitor and maintain Host Family residential and respite services within their designated geographical or case management assignment. The Host Family Coordinator is responsible to recruit and retain Host Family locations. The Host Family Coordinator is responsible to facilitate and support matches between Homesharers (adults) and approved Host Families and seek to promote Karis Disability Services service principles in the lives of people supported. Host Family Coordinators ensure service provision follows Karis Disability Services policies and procedures Ministry legislation and Ministry Host Family Services Directives. They work in collaboration with relevant community partners in support of the needs and goals of Homesharers and Host Family Providers.

The Host Family Coordinator helps build communities of belonging in accordance with the core values of Karis Disability Services; Valuing People Fostering Belonging Serving Others and Respecting Gifts. They respect and uphold the Values Vision and Mission of Karis Disability Services demonstrating the highest standards of courtesy respect and integrity in their dealings with persons supported other employees and both internal and external stakeholders.

Experience: Three years (two and a half years prior and six months on the job) Or have case management experience Or Direct Support Experience

Education: College Diploma/Degree in a related field or Developmental Services and Social Work education preferred

Demands:

  • Ability to work well under pressure both independently and as part of a team
  • Involves working with people who may be under significant personal stress or who may have challenging behaviours
  • Intermittent periods of considerable mental demands

Work conditions: Frequent Travel within Area Occasional travel within the province

Other Requirements:

  • Computer proficiency (e.g. MS Office Database navigation).
  • Valid G drivers license
  • Excellent Communication Skills

  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
