Summary

Rock City Gardens is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Part-Time Tour Guide to deliver memorable and educational experiences to guests by sharing the history legends and attractions of Rock City Gardens. Tour Guides play a vital role in ensuring that guests enjoy their visit and leave with a deeper appreciation for this iconic destination. Under the direction of the Guest Relations Manager the Tour Guide is responsible for performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

• Delivers excellent guest service to internal and external customers in line with the organizations mission culture and values.
• Models appropriate guest and partner interaction at all times.
• Provides guided tours for groups of various sizes including schools corporate outings and general visitors ensuring information is accurate engaging and tailored to the audience.
• Learns memorizes and delivers detailed tour scripts.
• Greet guests warmly answer questions and assist with wayfinding or special requests during the tour experience.
• Presents facts about Rock City Gardens history geology and attractions including Lookout Mountain the Fairyland Caverns and the Seven States View.
• Uses storytelling and interactive elements to enhance guest engagement and create memorable experiences.
• Monitors tour groups to ensure safety during their visit particularly on trails bridges and high-traffic areas.
• Assists with special events programs or other guest activities as needed.
• Uphold the mission of Creating Memories Worth Repeating and exemplify company values: Innovation Communication Learning Appreciation Accountability and Proactivity.
• Provides information directions and recommendations for other area attractions as needed.

• Previous experience in hospitality and tourism preferred.
• Possess a kind outgoing and energetic personality with a desire to engage with guests and provide excellent guest service.
• Ability to display a professional engaging and polite image to guests and team partners.
• Ability to speak effectively to small groups (up to 15 guests) while maintaining a high level of engagement and enthusiasm.
• Ability to obtain and share in-depth knowledge about the history and lore of Rock City Gardens.
• Ability to read and understand operational documents.
• Ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced efficient environment.
• Ability to add subtract multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
• Ability to provide a flexible schedule to work nights weekends holidays and special events as needed.
• Required to regularly use hands and fingers. Ability to lift/move up to 15 pounds. Required to walk stoop kneel or crouch frequently. Must be able to stand regularly.
