Job Description

Excavator Operator (Demolition)


Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Hoe Operator to work concrete demolition scopes in Edmonton and area. We offer competitive wages work / life balance great opportunity for advancement potential for winter work and company matching RRSP program.


Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Demolition of concrete and other structures with concrete breakers on a hoe
  • Moving demoed materials with a skid steer
  • Clean up of demo areas with skid steer
  • Work in relatively congested areas
  • Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
  • Ensure work is always done safely to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production
  • Promote execute and adhere to the companys safety program
  • Daily equipment inspections and maintenance
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity


Required Skills:

  • 2 years of excavator experience
  • 2 years of skid steer experience
  • Demolition experience with both excavator and skid steer is required
  • Exceptionally safety conscious
  • Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent / foreman
  • Ability to operate other equipment is an asset
  • Strong communication skills


Required Certifications:

  • WHMIS 2015 (required)
