About the RoleThis distinguished Independent Girls School in Birmingham is seeking a highly motivated and academically rigorous Physics Teacher for a permanent full-time position commencing January 2026. This is a key role within the Science faculty demanding passion and expertise to inspire the schools bright pupils. The successful candidate will join a school dedicated to intellectual ambition and providing an unrivalled education to girls who will go on to study demanding STEM subjects at leading universities. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver challenging high-quality Physics lessons across the age range (Years 7-13) fostering a strong theoretical and practical understanding.
- Drive experimental rigour and critical analyse skills preparing students for success in A-Level examinations and highly competitive university applications (including Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions).
- Contribute actively to the wider Science and STEM culture of the school through enrichment programmes and co-curricular activities.
- Maintain meticulous oversight of student progress ensuring tailored support allows all girls to develop their individual strengths and passions.
- Participate fully in the pastoral and co-curricular life of the school community.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree specialism in Physics.
- Proven experience teaching Physics to A-Level or clear potential if applying as an ECT.
- A commitment to intellectual ambition and inspiring the next generation of female scientists.
- Exceptional classroom practice and an ability to present complex material clearly and enthusiastically.
- A willingness to embrace the schools high expectations and collaborative working environment.
